Essential Question – What are the characteristics of a civilization in Mesopotamia?
- On the Right Side - recreate the graphic organizer “Characteristics of Civilization in Sumer” found on pg. 21.
- On the Left Side – Create a “Bubble” concept map that details the specifics of Sumerian culture beginning on pg. 31 (Include religion, society, and science/technology). Your bubble/concept map should have three legs.
Example of Bubble Map (tip: write in information and draw in the bubbles last - this activity only requires three outside bubbles.)
Alternate iPad Activity

On the Right Side - Using the National Geographic Link to complete the Journal. Identify the Six Characteristics of a civilization. Make sure to include details of each of these characteristics.

On the Left Side - Summarize in four short paragraphs Mesopotamian Culture. Click the link and preview the sections titled: Law and Government, Invention of Writing, Religion, and one more of your choosing. Simple summarize each article in a 5-8 sentence paragraph. You should have four total paragraphs.
